Monday Blues

I'm feeling the way Garfield feels every monday, dun wan to wake up, dun wan to do anything. But still have to go to skool. Go for lectures u hope to perk u up, only to be bored by it. Life never goes according to ur way.

Met a few pple. Wende on the bus, he seems to enjoyed a lot on his trip to USA. Ray joined mi n Zichao for lunch tho. Sad to hear abt his plight. Perhaps, a blessing in disguise. Since they always say, 'Old dun go, new wun come'(direct china translation). Anyway, if it becomes a burden, it's better off alone. N yet some still happily carry a burden. I think I should do the same bah. Who knows?

Skating mania

Had our AGM on Thurs. Turnout wasn't really good, nevertheless, there was enough pple to fill up the required posts. Overall, still okie wif it, tho I should be quite depressed considering those who went for the course never supported me by running for course co-ordinator.......>_<
Hope to forge a great bond tho..............

Yesterday was the 1st skating session.....as usual, still quite simple n relaxing. Nothing much, except dat gotta spend some energy pushing the-you-know-who-u-r, coz 'u' dun dare to speed up. Later after dat still gotta rush to Huijing's bdae, to witness how Zhili bcome so romantic......haha...how i wish got chio bu do dat for mi......*_*

Tink if i were to go n execute all the plans i have in mind, gonna be so super duper busy. However, I may b busy, but I'm happy. Dats wat keeps mi goin on. As long as I'm doin wat i like, no matter how tiring it may b, i will 'just do it'......haha

Tired, Fatigue, Exhausted, Deadbeat, Stunned............dats me today........time for a nap AGAIN.......

if you could lift shoulder-high above the rim, have the kick of the dolphin, the reflexes of a cat;
if you could have all this, you would have the body, you would have the tools,
but you would not have greatness until you understand that
the strongest muscle is the heart.
To me that's the soul of the Olympic Games." ------Andrea Bocelli, ITALY

Pop Culture in skool

Had my 1st Pop culture tutorial yesterday. Interesting start to it when we have to guess the pop culture consumption of the person next to us. You suddenly realise dat we all do participate in the mainstream culture in one way or another.

Otherwise, a tiring day wif lessons from 8am to 6pm. Gosh, how i hate to wake up early n go home late. Just hate dat feeling!!!

Skating Course

Juz finished the skating course, over 20th to 22nd. Hence, a whole burnt weekend. As the course co-ordinator for NUS Skating Club, dis time every year would be a time of peril for me. For wif the course comes great work load, enuf to crush and send a person down to knees. Thank goodness I have a great partner in Peiyu n a great helper in Daryl to run the whole course smoothly.

The course dis year was quite different from the last one. It was a much better one n a fun event. Location-wise was a factor, considering dat the carpark have immense space n great terrain for beginners to start off. Though the mata car came twice, we were lucky to be able to complete all the sessions there.

Participant-wise, we have quite a number fo fun-loving signups dis time round. Most are quite friendly n able to communicate n socialize wif us well. Perhaps the games have helped. Yup, the introduction of games n prizes was a great factor in making dis course a success. Simple games they may be, n yet still so interesting n fun for the particpants.

Course often brings in quite a number of members, though it is still in balance if they gonna join the committee. However, I would hope to see them takin on a new role as my fellow partners in making the skatin activities a fun one. To all the skaters out there..........GAMBATTE!!!

Gravity of Love

"o fortunaVelut luna"

Turn around and smell what you don't see
Close your eyes ... it is so clear
Here's the mirror, behind there is a screen
On both ways you can get in

Don't think twice before you listen to your heart
Follow the trace for a new start

What you need and everything you'll feel
Is just a question of the deal
In the eye of storm you'll see a lonely dove
The experience of survival is the key
To the gravity of love

"o fortunaVelut luna"
Try to think about it ...
That's the chance to live your life and discover
What it is, what's the gravity of love

"o fortunaVelut luna"

Look around just people, can you hear their voice
Find the one who'll guide you to the limits of your choice

But if you're in the eye of storm
Just think of the lonely dove
The experience of survival is the key
To the gravity of love

Athens Olympics

Caught Ronald Susilo in action yesterday wif world no. 1 Lin Dan in an exciting badminton match. However, both were error-prone yesterday, making a lot of mistakes here n there. Nonetheless, it was an exciting match, when u catch them in some superb rallies dat will take ur breath away. Personally, I find it strange the way they employed their tactics. It seems dat they are not adaptive in my tactical sense(from comp games!!!). Eg. Lin Dan was quite error-prone in the front half of the court near the net n damn strong on the backline where his smashes seems to pack a deadly punch to it. Susilo kept hitting the shuttle cock behind for him to attack. VEry strange indeed. Alas, perhaps the games n minds of the professionals are way beyond our league. Who know?? Now can onli anticipate 2nite's battle btwn Michael Phelps n Ian Thorpe. Showdown of the year.............^_^

Relationship

Yup. Cathcy topic today, just too bad I'm not the lead for today. I referring to Zichao, my great fren I noe thru NUSSC. Altho the 1st to become my great fren was Shamin, Zichao quickly rose among the ranks. HAHA!!! N thank goodness he's taking 4 modules wif mi dis semester, in addition to our same majors.

Zichao have told me on several occasions about the problems he faced in his relationship. Finally. I met the ger liao, actually cannot really confirm she's the 'one', but as a fren, I would nvr ask Zichao unless he tell mi out of his own will. I'm not in any position to comment on his problems since I don't noe wat sort of person his gf is, nut as a fren, I understand Zichao to a certain extent. Perhaps, I nvr really gave him really good advice, but I believe I gave him the support a fren should give.

Love is a strange and funny thing. Although an old Chinese saying goes dat 'an outsider sees more clearly den the parties involved', I believe dat it's only partially true. To me, there are times n areas dat only the parties involved can understand wats goin on out there. Eg. In a football match, we can kao peh as much as we wan about the ongoin match, but it is the players themselves who can feel wat it is like to play in a match. Similarly, a couple cget together for a reason, they themselves are more creditable in judging the relationship. As frens aka outsiders, who r we to kao peh abt 'Ur gf is blah blah blah......ur bf is blah blah blah.........'??

Love is a feeling. It's something dat goes on between the two lovebirds. We cnt feel dat emotional interaction, hence, we dun judge them. However, we can give advice n support if our fren is need. Although Zichao n I may not have known like many yrs, we can hit it off n relate to each other. Dat is all. Dat's all it is.

Hereby hope he gonna sail thru his troubles.............^_^

*It takes 2 persons to start a relationship, but 1 person to end it.......................>_<

Skool Starts

10th Aug Tuesday, start of 3rd semester in NUS. Hella of a day after a 3 month long break dat sent my bones sprawling onto the cold hard concrete.

Mkt1003 - Dis module is not really dat super hard, but the work load is heavy, judging from the schedule filled wif tutorials, group assignments, project n mid-term. Another constant workaholic module.

Sc2215 - Dis module seems interesting, tho the recording of our food intake seems to make mi look like a primary skool kiddo. Bad thing: too few pple in the module n not really any one i noe.

Sc2214 - Dis module dun seem to promise much. Lecturer is an ultra-egoistic guy who is damn arrogant n stubborn. Yup, he might b honest. But his inability to adapt to changes of the environment is his greatest drawback. He should learn to blend in thru compromise n dat means he have to put in the effort, not wait for the world to change to suit him.Sir, plz get it clear. Earth dun rotate only for ur sake!!!!

3 lectures(actually is 2+ a bit) 2day is enuf to send my thoughts into a whirlpool swirl. Perhaps, the lack of sleep in a contributory factor. But sumhow, I hope it's not an omen of the things to come, dat I would be crushed under the heavy workload. In fact, all 3 lectures I had today are modules which require a project one time or another. Haiz...........LIFE SUX!!!

HELL WEEK

I've never been a strong person. Perhaps dats the reason why I find the NS life I went thru as a combat engineer sux n a very tough one. Saturday nite 31st Aug, I changed my view. From dat moment on, I will not say my NS life was a tough one. All becoz Galvyn show us a vcd..........

Galvyn is always the capable guy who amaze us when he volunteered to serve his NS in NDU(Naval Diving Unit). There, he went thru the super tough regime n endured much more hardship one can imagine. Hell week is one dat shocks u wif the amount of punishment they can take.

Stuff such as various sorts of physical punishment n boat PT or boat march are most common during the 155hrs of hell week. Add to the fact dat during those 5 days, u will be drenched all the time n sometimes even have sand over ur body. 24hrs a day, 1/2 hr of sleep, 1hr of meal n toilet break, dat leaves u wif 22 n 1/2hr of torture everyday. I m truly amazed at the punishment Galvyn went thru. In the vcd, u caught everyone wif white lips n dozing off at meal times, where they dun even have the strength to hold their spoon. Cold treatment of submerging urself into ice water at unearthly hrs at nite makes ur hair stand in fear.(supposed to be 15*C but Gal said it went below to 6*C!!!)

The 'hell' they went thru is just too difficult to put in words. U have to see if for urself n feel ur heart pounding in respect for every single one of them.

Vindicated

Hope, dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye
Roped me in so mesmorizing
And so hypnotizing
I am captivated
I am...

Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
Cut to mirror your intention
Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
And rendered me so isolated
So motivated, I am certain now
That I am..

Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

So turn up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
Trace the moment, fall forever
Defence is paper thin
Just one touch and I'd be in too deep down
to ever swim against the current

So let me slip away, so let me slip away
So let me slip away, so let me slip against the current
So let me slip away, so let me slip away
So let me slip away, so let me slip against the current

Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

Like hope, dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
